A special class of enemy who are only found in the Tower of Trials. They're used on each trial to prove the different abilities of a knight. They're made of stone and only awake for the trials. Sometimes they act as allies and others as enemies. There are:
- Chess Knight: The principal front line unit.
- Chess Black Knight: a strong attack unit, only weak to magic attacks.
- Chess Archer: Long range combat unit.
- Chess Mage: The one in charge of magic attacks.
- Chess Viper: A mage specialized in poisoning enemies.
- Chess Healer: A mage who cures the other units in the battle field.
